The Foundation is committed to partnering with renowned organizations with shared goals of pursuing and furthering knowledge in the medical field.
The Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (now a part of Northwell Health) and the Foundation join efforts in educating fellows attending Columbia University and NYU. A relationship founded on over 40 years, now consists of two highly developed and sought after, retinal programs. In addition, The Macula Foundation supports the LuEsther T. Mertz Research Center at The Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (Northwell Health).
For more then 50 years our relationship with NYU has brought in fellows at a national level. While in the program, fellows are given retinal experience and training.
The Foundation hosts one of the largest meetings of retinal specialists worldwide, The Atlantic Coast Retinal Club/Macula Symposium, at the Farkas Auditorium NYU School of Medicine. This meeting is held annually in one of these four East Coast cities: New York (The Macula Foundation), Philadelphia (Wills Eye), Baltimore (Johns Hopkins), and Boston (Harvard).
The Macula Foundation also has a retinal fellowship relationship with Columbia University where they support collaborative research within the Retinal Department.Fellows are given retinal experience and training over the course of two years. Our relationship with Columbia began over 40 years ago and continues to flourish.
